Jason is 40!

Jason turned 40 on March 9! To celebrate we had some beer, uh butter beer...

...at the Three Broomsticks

We also went to the 2nd Happiest Place on Earth.


The 1st being Disneyland of course.









But this is what Jason wanted for his birthday




No, not to stand in line for an hour to ride Harry Potter!

He wanted to sit here in the sun and watch the Braves.
(I added the sit in the sun part. That's what I wanted.)

A Year Ago.....

There are a lot of first year anniversaries to remember and celebrate. A year ago today we arrived at the Salt Lake Airport with Efa. We were exhausted, it had been 24 hours of travel, crying babies, immigration, delays and bad food. It was late and we had a two hour drive ahead of us...did I mention we were exhausted.

I didn't know how Efa would be in a carseat. He had never been in one before. We held him as we were transported around Addis Ababa and we held him on the plane. As Jason pulled the car up to where Efa and I were waiting with the mountain of luggage, I really hoped that the ride home would go well. I tucked Efa in the car seat and he went to sleep. The one part of the trip that went well.
